Wally winner at Home track and Home race:
Dan had a great rebound race after tough outings down South in March/April. With a new chassis to suit his big power with the Alan Johnson AJ-481x in the race shop and getting fitted, he ran his dragster combo from the last two years. Dan had a solid Friday and Saturday of qualifying and ran a 6.64 best, good enough for #7. He was also runner-up in the "run for the Money" final qualifier best package that he and RAD sponsor. Darien in his first big race at his home track ran a solid 6.80/197 to qualify #11.
Darien also competed in Super Pro where he went to the third round. His lights were strong and looked good, but but his round one loss due to the et falling off confused the team. They entered Super S-Pro to see if engine issues continued. He won the first wo rounds due to the other drivers handing the wins to Darien. After his round two win they decided to trailer the car. They examined the engine and found a few issues.
In round one, Dan faced Alberta rival Dave Senio. Dave had mechanical issues in the last qualifier and had to replace the converter in the car. His dial was a bit of a guess, but it ran close to his number but he was late on the tree and Dan got and easy win.
Round two could have been an easy win as his opponent Ed Hauer was debuting his new Holly EFI combo. The car was all over the place in ET. Luckily Ed went red as Dan was late, and was off to round three.
In round three Dan took on John Evans. Evans defeated Darien in round one, so it was payback time. They were close on their RT's, but John broke out by a bunch. Dan went under by a couple trying to catch John but got the win. He was off to the semi finals.
In the semis he took on tough Washington hitter Clint Giese. Dan got .013 on the tree and took a .013 margin at the stripe. He was off tot he final at his home event.
The final saw similar reactions as in the semi finals with Dan having a .016 advantage over first time finalist Dave Boucher. That was all he needed as Dan was off the gas near the stripe running a 6.679 on his 6.66 dial. Dan's margin of victory was .015. With the win Dan moved into 4th place in the Division Six Top Dragster standings.

Congratulations to Darien for not only getting his first ever round win in his new Top Dragster but also continuing to win rounds going to the final and earning his first win in the big class. A Super Pro win in only his second or third ever bracket race. Way to go Darien!!!.
Dan was testing what will be one of his last runs in this green and black M&M dragster. He has a new Spitzer dragster ordered and it will be here in the next week or two. The new 481-x powerplant just has way to much torque for the old dragster. Dan will compete this weekend at the Lordco "BC Nationals" in his trusty 2016 combo. Darien will compete at the Lordco Nationals this weekend as well in Top Dragster.

Dan ran in the 6.50's at the Vegas Divisional on the weekend but was a round one runner-up. Darien ran his career best 6.86, but he fell one spot short of qualifying for the tough 48 car field. He did get in as an alternate but he too lost in round one.

The first race of the season is complete. The rad team is in Vegas for the Denso Nationals. This is really a test race for the team as they are running a brand new engine combination for the 2017 season. A 540 in AJ481-X with 4/71 blower. It will make a ton more power as Dan strives to be a top ten qualifier hoping to run in the 6.10-6.30 range.
The first weekend showed some promise but poor weather conditions including rain and heavy wind and a so-so track kept the car to the 6.60-6.70 range. Dan qualified as the quickest car in the bottom half and won round one against Jesse Adams. He lost to Kyle Seipel in round two. They will make a bunch of adjustments and get ready for the LODRS this weekend.

The final race for the RAD team in 2016
Dan had a chance to move up into the top 4 in the TD standings with a win. He had a great opening round going .002 on the tree and running his number with a 2 for a 4t hou package. Unfortunately he bowed out in round two. He finished in 12th place in Division six.
Darien raced Mike Quayle in round one and lost . by .07 of a second.
Al Quigley ran in Super Street and went 4 rounds in the rainout race. He lost in round one in the final race. He finished in the top 20.
Zak Clarke ran the S-10 but he failed to qualify for the quick field. He finished 10th in TS the division.
Team RAD member Paul Nero won the Top Dragster title for Division Six.
Another RAD champion is John Tabak. He won Sportsman bracket at Mission Raceway. He also finished in the top six in Pro Bracket.

Mission Raceway's final weekend
Darien was out in the "Beach Ball" getting more laps and experience before he and dad head South to Las vegas for the Final Lucas Oil race of the year. It will be his first ever race in Lucas Oil Competition.
September 7th, 2016
The final race for Darien in the Jr Dragster happened at the Summit ET finals the September Long Weekend.
Darien did real well in the Race Of Champions going four rounds. lost in the semi finals.
August 25, 2016
A very cool day at the track as Darien made his first four laps in his six second dragster. He will complete his licensing on Saturday.
Dan made a couple laps in his S-10. He had chassis tuning help from Jay Syvertsen and was also dialing in his new Reher Morrison bullet.
August 22, 2016
Not a great weekend at Seattle last weekend. They ran the Spokane Divisional rain out and the Pacific Divisional. Dan only had a couple round wins in both races. The weekend before he broke the bullet in his blown dragster but a mad thrash Monday Tuesday Wednesday had him at the track Wednesday night.
August 5, 2016
Dan is in Seattle this weekend for the NW Nationals. He is qualified #18 with a 6.70. He will race the #3 qualifier Jon Bradford in round one
July 28, 2016
The Canadian National Open was on last weekend and they ran a new Top D/S class for the first time at MRP. It is 1/8th mile Super Quick. Dan Provost qualified near the top of the field with a 4.24 Saturday but lost in the 1/4 finals. On Sunday, he ran a 4.26, again near the top of the field, but was gone in the early rounds. Darien Provost, went to the final round on Sunday in Jr Lightning but lost to Tiffanny Howe. Darien went red in round one of Saturday's race. Zak Clarke drivng the RAD sponsored nova lost in the final round of Super Quick Saturday.
July 20th, 2016
Woodburn did not go well for the RAD driven cars. The Top Sportsman S-10 had a catastrophic engine expiring experience and Dan lost in round three in Top Dragster.
July 6, 2016
Doorwarz is in the books and Darien had another solid weekend. He won on Sunday in Jr. Lightning and was runner-up on Saturday. Dan ran a career best in Top Sportsman. Unfortunately his career best on Sunday in race two cost him the 1st round win. He was strong on the tree, .017 against Joe Loch and the track prep was stellar with great air conditions.
He dialed a 7.58 but the car ran an unreal 7.53/175. He strubbed over 5 mph but still broke out a bunch. The team is still scratching their heads. In Saturday's TS race he fell victim to Mike Lucas. Dan was good on the tree with a .019 (Lucas was .020) but the truck fell off .03 on his 7.59 dial.
TS team member Zak Clarke did reach the final round on Sunday. He fell to Alberta's James Rutherford in that final.
Ken Sihota driving the RAD Torue Systems Outlaw 10.5 Firebird was the #1 qualifier with a 4.06/181.
He went red in the semi finals. John Tabak was in the semi finals on Saturday in the bracket classes when the race was called. Scott Sikora was also in the semi finals in Super Pro when the two final rounds were cancelled due to time retraints.
June 25, 2016
Spokane was rained out and will be rerun at the Seattle Divisional in August. Dan was competing in both Top Dragster and Top Sportsman.
June 15, 2016
The Edmonton Pro Am double header was also rained out (qualifying was completed) and those races will be completed at the Rocky Mountain Nationals July 15th weekend. Both Dan and Darien were competing and will attend the rescheduled race. They will run four races over four days. They will be busy.
June 7, 2016
Well the weekend's big Lucas Oil event at Mission had a number of Good News bad news results for Dan and the RAD team.
The end game goal for Dan was to pick up some points, especially in Top Dragster. That attempt fell by the way side in round one Sunday morning when the Trans Brake button failed, causing Dan to leave before the tree was activated. In Top Sportsman, Dan missed the tree by a couple numbers but still had a chance to defeat Lee Goranson if he could hit his number. He fell just short losing the stripe by .011 (about 2 feet)
After getting back to the pits and quickly fixing the button the team flew up to the staging lanes and entered Super Pro and both the car and Dan did their jobs and he reached the final round in the 26 car field. There he faced one of the tough local Super Pro competitor Zack Liston driving his 8 second 55 Chevy. Dan drove around Liston on the top end to earn the win and the Super Pro Wally. It was a great consolation prize on Race Day.

Top Sportsman final qualifying

The day prior (Saturday) he had an equally good day times two. Dan qualified for both the Top Dragster Shootout and the Top Sportsman Shootout. These shoot outs are based on dialing what they think their race cars will run in that round of qualifying. The top eight qualifiers in both classes get to race for a really nice plaque and a decent payday. Dan mowed down the field in both classes reaching the final rounds. In Top Sportsman he faced Joe Mellof.
Dan got the starting line advantage and ran dead on his dial with a 'zero'. He took a half car length victory. In Top Dragster he raced Gordie Castle driving the always tough AFD Dragster owned by the Ebert family. Gordie got a slight .004 starting line advantage but Dan was closer to his dial running a 6.781 on his 6.77 dial. Gordie was .028 of his 6.82 dial.
June 2, 2016
This weekend is one of Dan Provost's biggest racing weekend's as he is competing at his home track at the Lordco "BC Nationals". Dan will be competing in both the Top Sportsman and Top Dragster classes. Both cars are running very consistent so he hopes his is on the money at the tree and can go late into elimination's.
May 29, 2016
Not a good weekend for racing at the weather halted all on track activity. Darien remained undefeated, and will have to wait three weeks to try and win his fourth in a row. Dan was going to run NW Outlaws and/or Doorslammer, but both cars stayed in the pits waiting for the rain to halt. It did for a few hours Sunday but returned just as the jrs. were going to hit the track. See you all next weekend at the Divisional where Dan's tries to take the Top Dragster and/or Top Sportsman Wallys.
May 22, 2016
Not a great weekend in Spokane this weekend as the weather got the best of racig. Sunday was completely washed out and Saturday only saw a few classes hit the track. Dan is qualified in both Top Sportsman (#13) and Top Dragster (#7) but the race will be completed at Seattle the middle of August the Thursday before the LODRS. The team is looking forward to racing this coming weekend at Mission Raceway.
May 17, 2016
The RAD Torque Systems sponsored BMH Pro Mod car driven by Shane Molinari had a tough outing this past weekend at Atlanta. Through no fault at Shane, he was forced into taking drastic measures to avoid his opponent's car when it came into Shane's lane right at the finish line traveling well over 200 mph. Shane took evasive action but in doing so the car got loose and crossed into the other lane and slamming broadside into the wall. Shane suffered a broken rib and cracked ribs and will be recovering for a while. In the mean time the car will be in for repairs. Dan and the RAD team stepped up and made a substantial financial contribution to aid in the repairs. Dan and the RAD team wish Shane a speedy recovery so he can get back on the track.
Here is the crash video

A weekend 80 photo gallery from Mission last weekend is posted. It includes both Dan and Darien as well as a couple other team RAD cars.
May 6-8, 2016
The second and third summit bracket points races of the year were up this past weekend as well as the first Canada West Doorslammers race of the season. Dan Provost was going to get a solid tune-up in the S-10 so he was ready for the Spokane Divisional event May 20th weekend.
Darien was hoping to continue his hot hand in Jr Lightning. He had an awesome weekend winning both days to extend his win streak to three races in a row and remain undefeated in 2016. He did the job on both ends of the race track running a dead on 7.900 on a 7.90 index on Saturday against Emily Girard. On Sunday he was .001 on the tree and eased off the gas to earn his second win on the weekend. He again defeated Emily Girard. Way to go Darien!
Dan had a decent outing reached the 1/4 finals (third round). He was defeated by Terry Langdon Davies who had a perfect light against Dan. He and the team did dial in the truck and ran solid 7.5 and 7.6's.
He heads to Spokane in one week, and will compete in both Top Dragster and Top Sportsman.
A couple RAD sponsored teams did real well on the weekend as John Tabak won both days in two different classes. On Saturday John got his first ever Pro Bracket win when he took out the class 2015 champion Jim Behnke in the final. On Sunday John got the win in Sportsman bracket, taking out Randy Hermsen in the final round. Kirk Lanz won Doorslammer on Sunday in the RAD 69 Yenko Camaro.
Boise Idaho, Race one in Division Six's six race LODRS series.
No three-peat this year for Dan in Top Dragster as he went one thou red in round one.
His luck was also bad in Top Sportsman as he also went red there.
The next race in the division series is his home town race at Mission just a month away. He will run at the next two MRP events though if his busy work schedule allows.
Winner's circle from the TS Shoot-out
Dan is solidly in the field with both the Dragster (#7 with a 6.75/200) and the S-10 TS truck. Dan made it into the TS Shoot-Out and took the win with a .013 package (.010 light and 3 off his 7.87 dial). He defeated Mike Williams in the final round.
Way to go Dan!

In round one, Dan took on Jeff Taylor, and Dan was the chaser. He got a .013 starting line advantage and caught Taylor by 1200 feet. Dan was not off the gas quick enough and broke out by .013 giving back the win.
1 345B Benjamin Board, Atlanta GA, '12 Camaro 6.470
In Top Sportsman Dan is qualified #34 and took on Wayne Newman in round one. Newman has a half second performance advantage giving Dan a clean tree. Dan was a bit tardy on the tree going .083 but Newman was real late 4/10ths back, that made for a relatively easy win in round one.
He just needs to be tighter on the tree. Dan takes on Phil Dion in round two. Dion had a .019 package in his round one win.

Dan qualified in the #20 spot and took on #4 Denny Hills in round one. Dan had gone .006 in the final qualifier on the tree so he felt he had a perfect delay in the box. He must have been a bit too amped up against the quicker Hills, as Dan lit the red light, going .009 red. He is looking forward to getting redemption at the Divisional next weekend. He will also bring out the S-10 pick-up for the first time.
